Course Description
The Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED course provides training in basic first aid procedures (including the first aid skills recommended by OSHA) to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies for the first few minutes until professional medical help arrives.
This course covers topics such as bandaging and splinting, wound care, bites, environmental emergencies, and dealing with common medical emergencies for the adult victim. The course also covers adult and child CPR as well as an optional module on the proper use of an AED. This course is designed for individuals and companies that require first aid and CPR & AED certification for any non-healthcare related field.
Intended Audience
The Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED course is designed for individuals and companies that require adult first aid with CPR & AED certification for any non-healthcare related field such as teachers (for adult learners), construction workers, fitness trainers, coaches, electricians, police officers, firefighters, and more. This course is also appropriate for the general community member who wants to learn first aid skills for his/her own knowledge.

The Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulatory requirements (CFR 29 1910. 1030) for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction. Course topics include information on preventing and protecting yourself from exposure to bloodborne pathogens. The course also covers how to act appropriately if an exposure does occur, how to clean up after an exposure, and how to properly report the bloodborne pathogens exposure.
