The Heartsaver® CPR AED course is designed for individuals and companies that require CPR and AED certification for any non-healthcare related field such as teachers, construction workers, fitness trainers, coaches, electricians, scout leaders, police officers, firefighters, and more. This course is also appropriate for the general community member who wants to learn CPR and AED skills for his/her own knowledge such as new parents, grandparents, babysitters, teens, friends, family, and neighbors.

Course Description
The Heartsaver® First Aid and CPR AED course provides training in basic first aid procedures (including the first aid skills recommended by OSHA) to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies for the first few minutes until professional medical help arrives.
This course covers topics such as bandaging and splinting, wound care, bites, environmental emergencies, and dealing with common medical emergencies for the adult victim. The course also covers adult and child CPR as well as an optional module on the proper use of an AED. This course is designed for individuals and companies that require first aid and CPR & AED certification for any non-healthcare related field.

Course Description:
The HeartSaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course is approved by the California Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) and is exempt from EMSA stickers for child care providers. This is course provides training in basic pediatric first aid procedures (including the first aid skills recommended by OSHA) and pediatric asthma care to effectively recognize and treat emergencies for the first few minutes until professional medical help arrives. Course topics include the assessment and management of illnesses and injuries such as eye injuries, fever, suspected abuse, snake bites, spider bites, wound care, bleeding control, burns, seizures, allergic reactions, asthma, and stings as well as environmental emergencies. The course also covers CPR and relief of choking for the adult, child, and infant victim as well as proper use of an AED.

The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course is designed for childcare providers that require certification in pediatric first aid and CPR, adult CPR, and proper use of an AED. Typical enrollees for this course include teachers, before and after school programs, preschools, childcare providers, foster parents, adoptive parents, and more. This course is also appropriate for the general community member who wants to learn pediatric first aid skills for his/her own knowledge.
This course is not intended for people who work or want to work in the healthcare field.
What does this course teach:
- CPR and AED use for Adults, Children and Infants including choking.
- First aid basics including medical, injury, poison, and environmental emergencies, preventing illnesses and injuries and controlling bleeding & bandaging. Covers topics like using a tourniquet, shock, internal bleeding, burns and electrical injuries, allergic reactions, breathing problems & dehydration, diabetes & low blood sugar, heat-and cold-related emergencies, drowning, amputations, bites and stings, broken bones and sprains. Also covers splinters, nose bleeds, fainting, seizures, and injuries to the head, eyes, neck, spine, mouth, and teeth.
- Optional module is the Adult CPR and AED.
